Our mission
High-quality food, the old-fashioned way
We are committed to growing and nurturing the highest quality produce we can. This means we consciously reject large-scale farming methods, choosing instead to do things the old-fashioned way.
What makes it different
Our superior pork
The rare breed
We raise Cornish Blacks (Large Blacks). This rare breed matures slowly. The slow growth produces a meat that is supremely tender and juicy. It has natural marbling — enhanced by a slightly higher fat content — which melts while cooking, delivering an unforgettable flavour. This is not like normal, commercially raised pork.
By raising only BPA-registered 'pedigree' or 'birth notified' stock, we are actively trying to preserve this important heritage breed. A breed that is rarer than Siberian tigers. Ironically, to preserve the breed we have to eat the meat, otherwise it will slowly disappear.
The natural environment
We are firm believers in keeping pigs in their natural habitat.
Pork marketing and labelling can be confusing. The vast majority of "high-welfare" pork comes from pigs who are born outside ("outdoor-bred") then fattened in sheds, most spend about 80% of their lives indoors. We do the opposite. Our pigs are farrowed inside so we can ensure their welfare, then moved outside for the rest of their lives.
Living outside gives them a rich, stimulating life — foraging, rooting, and playing — which is vital for their well-being.
If you're ready for a change, try our pork. It truly is different, and we are confident that once you taste this quality, you won't settle for anything less.
